I used an old, outdated, HR law book (well…!) I removed quite a few pages first to take out some of the weight and volume (if you left them in a. you would have nothing to stamp on and b. the book would end up far too thick and heavy!).
I folded the pages in half, bending them underneath, of about two thirds of the book (until you have sufficient to hold open the book). The last pages I folded just over the half way mark to ‘step’ out the remaining pages, each one a little further than the last.
Once I was happy with the shape and size, I aged the inside cover (top) and the sides and edges of the fanned pages with Distress Inks (Vintage Photo).
On the pages I removed I stamped the Clarity Small Kasha stamp, Cornflower and Snowdrop stamps, Large Snowdrops and finally the Feminine stamp.
I used Promarkers to colour in the stamped images using ‘Bluebell and Violet. Finishing them by ageing the stamped images with the Distress Ink (Vintage Photo).
The flower stamps were attached to the book top and bottom, helping to retain the final shape, pearl embellishments were added. The Kasha image was attached to ribbon (purple with a rose print) and added to the book crowned with the large snowdrop image glued to the inside cover. The Feminine image edge was folded, allowing me to fix it between the bottom pages, again embellished with matching ribbon.
I used flower dies, cut and coloured using the same palette to colour and glue to the pages and added further pearl embellishments to finish off!
I love to share ideas and projects Karen, and it really makes my day if I can inspire someone, let a lone someone who inspires not only me, but so many people too! Xxx
